DRAINAGE VALVES

Automatic drainage valves

The drain valve is used to allow the automatic discharge of water which, in the event of rain, is deposited on the roofs of the floating roof tanks.
Operation is based on the density difference of the two liquids.
The effect is obtained by means of an appropriately calibrated float which acts on a rocker system with a double shutter.
The water inlet causes the float to rise and therefore the valve to open; vice versa, in the presence of hydrocarbons, the valve remains closed.
This device allows manual operations to be reduced to simple periodic valve maintenance checks instead of long and costly operator interventions in any rain situation.
